The ever popular Picnic in the Park event was again being planned to return in 2020. Unfortunately as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak this has been forced to be cancelled. The event is hoping to return stronger than ever in 2021.

Ardsley Tots is a parent and toddler group for all in the Barnsley, Stairfoot and Ardsley areas. The group meet in the old caretakers house next to Oakhill Primary Academy. To find out more, visit their facebook page at the link beneath the graphic to the left.
The group meet up every Tuesday and Thursday between 8.30am - 10.30am giving Parents and Toddlers valuable time to share their experiences and challenges with valuable social skills being learnt by the tots. Arts & Crafts and play is the name of the game for the tots, with snacks also provided. The charge for attending is £3 per adult. |

Berneslai Homes were appointed as an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) to look after social housing on behalf of Barnsley council. As part of their remit they are responsible for the social housing and tenants, and also local communities assisting in keeping areas clean and tidy and tackling issues of anti-social behaviour.

Stairfoot Station Heritage Park group has been formed to commemorate and celebrate the rich Industrial Heritage and Culture of the Stairfoot basin. The station, which was sited in the Stairfoot area of the Trans Pennine Trail, was a major distribution hub of communication for the transport of the many commodities produced from within the area. |

Barnsley Main Heritage Group
The Barnsley Main Heritage Group are volunteers committed to the conservation and protection of the Barnsley Main Colliery site. Barnsley is a town built on coal and we aim to make this Grade II listed site a high quality visitor attraction, community resource and memorial to the South Yorkshire coalfield. |
