Oaks WMC Facebook
Our local club is now a hive of activity once again!  Visit their Facebook page (link below the logo on the left) for all the activities throughout the week in their newly refurbished bar!

The club has subscriptions to both Sky Sports and BT Sports and has the capability to show 4 different channels at any time.

Picnic in the Park 2020

The ever popular Picnic in the Park event was again being planned to return in 2020.  Unfortunately as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak this has been forced to be cancelled.  The event is hoping to return stronger than ever in 2021.

Ardsley Tots Facebook
Ardsley Tots is a parent and toddler group for all in the Barnsley, Stairfoot and Ardsley areas.  The group meet in the old caretakers house next to Oakhill Primary Academy.  To find out more, visit their facebook page at the link beneath the graphic to the left.

The group meet up every Tuesday and Thursday between 8.30am - 10.30am giving Parents and Toddlers valuable time to share their experiences and challenges with valuable social skills being learnt by the tots.  Arts & Crafts and play is the name of the game for the tots, with snacks also provided. 

The charge for attending is £3 per adult.

Berneslai Homes were appointed as an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) to look after social housing on behalf of Barnsley council.  As part of their remit they are responsible for the social housing and tenants, and also local communities assisting in keeping areas clean and tidy and tackling issues of anti-social behaviour.

101 is the number to call when you want to contact your local police when it's not an emergency.  It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  You can also report some non-urgent crimes at www.reportingcrime.uk.
 
You should call 101 for reporting:
  • if your car has been stolen
  • if your property has been damaged
  • if you suspect drug use or dealing in your local area
  • to report a minor traffic accident
  • to give the police information about crime in your area
  • to speak to the police about a general enquiry
 
You should call 999 if:
  • a crime is in progress
  • someone suspected of a crime is nearby
  • there is danger to life
  • violence is being used or threatened
 
If you call 101 but are reporting an emergency, you will be directed to the 999 service.  Calls to the 101 service are charged at 15p per call, irrespective of the time of day or the length of the call.

Stairfoot Station Heritage Park
Stairfoot Station Heritage Park group has been formed to commemorate and celebrate the rich Industrial Heritage and Culture of the Stairfoot basin.

The station, which was sited in the Stairfoot area of the Trans  Pennine Trail, was a major distribution hub of communication for the transport of the many commodities produced from within the area.

The Barnsley Main Heritage Group are volunteers committed to the conservation and protection of the Barnsley Main Colliery site.

Barnsley is a town built on coal and we aim to make this Grade II listed site a high quality visitor attraction, community resource and memorial to the South Yorkshire coalfield.
